The noise of the moment scoffs at the music of the Eternal.

From Rabindranath Tagore:

The infant flower opens its bud and cries, "Dear World, please do not fade."

In my solitude of heart I feel the sigh of this widowed evening veiled with mist and rain.

In death the many becomes one; in life the one becomes many. Religion will be one when God is dead.

To be outspoken is easy when you do not wait to speak the complete truth.

I have dipped the vessel of my heart into this silent hour; it has filled with love.

The false can never grow into truth by growing in power.

More of his works

Although I have always been more drawn to Rumi
and Omar Khayyam today I found meaning in some of his words.

` The infant chicken escapes its shell and says; "Dear Lord! Please don't throw me into the grinder!"

` Um. Yeah. Sorry. Just popped into my head. Neato.

I liked this one :

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;

Where knowledge is free;

Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls;

Where words come out from the depth of truth;

Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;

Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;

Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action---

Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

i like this one:

You can pick your friends,

and you can pick your nose,

but you can't....

i forgot the rest.

it was good. i've followed that proverb all my life.

I pick my nose and my friends! But for some reason, my friends don't like it when i try to stick my finger up their nose! I don't understand! if i only knew the last part of that proverb, my life would be complete!

What a loss, loss, loss, loss it is
to remain sober among the intoxicated and the unconscious.
