Weird
So,
One of the coolest and perplexing things I've seen in awhile:
www.bmwfilms.com
This is the home of The Hire, a series of short films created by Hollywood’s finest talent.
What is "The Hire"? I'm sooo in the dark.
A co-worker was kind enough to show me the Beat the Devil short film this morning. It starred James Brown and Gary Oldman. It's maybe 5 min. long, maybe a little more. It had a certain True Romance, Tarantino kind of feel to it. I had no idea that BMW was cutting into the short/indie film market. It was good and I plan on watching the others. Had anyone ever heard of this before?
To watch them you have to register your name and email, but I think it's worth it....
And there is a comic series with Dark Horse about this "Hire" guy too. And of course as I delve deeper I find that one of the directors is John Woo,
I should'a known.
Man, what a world we're all missing out on, no owning BMWs! They don't make cool films through Volvos that's for sure.

They use some pieces of those films in their commercials. They pimp the bmwfilms.com website on commercials too.
Make no mistake, these films are commercials.
BTW; 'Hostage' is cool.
Are you saying that's a bad thing? They're the coolest commercials I've ever seen. C'mon, Gary Oldman as the Dark Lord, and his neighbor-Marilyn Manson? I thought it was cool. I guess if I watched tv I'd know about this....
` Eh, they've come far, considering that BMW used to be a bike company! I like Subys myself, though.
You are right Amber. They are the coolest commercials ever made, by far. I just finished all 3 of them and I was very impressed with each. The main guy in the commercials wore Randolph Aviator sunglasses. The same kind that I have. Gold 55mm gray lens. These people know quality sunglasses.
I didn't even notice the sunglasses, I gues syou notice that kind of thing, I notice how Gary Oldman has had a plethora of various sharp teeth styles in his wide range of acting roles.
haha! that was funny.
and i don't know if i'd admit to wearing aviator sunglasses.
Those remind me of Joe Vulliet from high school.
hemingway, so there was Dracula - and what else? Were his teeth weird in Sid and Nancy? I can't think of too many other films he was in that had funny teeth. The Fifth Element? No...that was weird hair..
hmm.....
alright. i give up!
hmm, there was True Romance, he had like silver or gold caps or something like that. It seems like there was another...I'll have to think about it.
Here's a sweet post with a picture of me in my Randolphs. I look so cool i can hardly stand it.
